Regular Season Recap

Markinson

Congrats again to Jason for being the best of the best. He ties the record for wins in a season with 11. Hubert finishes runner up for the THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR! He's the Stanford Heisman candidate of Markinson.

Montoya

Hubert FINALLY breaks through for his first league championship! After finishing 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, it's his turn to hoist the digital trophy. Strong side! Hubert is the sixth league winner in six seasons!

Lisa and I finish with wins to lock up our Markinson bids, Lisa's third, my fifth.

Dan has to sweat the playoffs for his first ever bid. He'll be rooting against Andrew, Scott, Gina, and Jeremy. No one in the bottom half of the standings has ever won Montoya Cup.

Dufresne

What a difference 2-hundredths of a point makes. Ouch.

Barring a point adjustment, Amer loses to Dean by that brutal margin, 130.10-130.08. Instead of locking up his fourth Markinson bid, Amer's loss, combined with Vineet's win over Nalu, drops him to 4th place and out of an automatic or even contingent Markinson bid. He'll have to win Dufresne Cup to earn his way in.

Dean's win locks up his fifth bid, and keeps him in the chase for Hubert's records. Vineet's win means he'll be sweating the playoffs to become the first newbie since Amer to qualify for Markinson in his first try. He'll be rooting against Amer, Russell, Steve, and Drew. It was just last year that Drew stole a Markinson bid from Russell, all the way from 7th place.

No one is playing better than Russell's Millennium Falcons. After starting the season 1-7, he won his sixth in a row to finish 7-7! He ain't much, but he's got it where it counts. He's fast enough for you, old man.

Starling

For the fourth time in six years, someone from Montoya wins Starling Cup. And in the end, it wasn't that close. Dan turned his 4-point lead over Nalu into a 50-point victory. Hubert finished another 10 points back.

So Dan is the first manager to win Starling without winning his league, and there's a chance he won't even make it into Markinson! But we have three weeks to go to see how this all plays out.

Good luck everyone! Still lots to play for. Last chance at a trophy, last chance at a bid!

Week 13 Update - One Week To Go!

Markinson

One game left, but this title is all wrapped up. Jason wins his first league championship, and it's the biggy! With it, he tilts the champions league back in Dufresne's favor, 3-2. One more win and he ties the record for Markinson wins in a season with 11.

Congrats to Jason, and he also earns an automatic bid to defend his title next season.

Dufresne

Congrats to Nalu as well, who also wraps up his first league championship! He sews up his second Markinson bid, which leaves only two remaining in Dufresne after Jason's Markinson win.

Amer, Dean, and Vineet all have a shot at finishing 2nd and locking up the third Markinson bid, with Steve a long shot. Whoever finishes 3rd will sweat the playoffs for that fourth bid.

Amer plays Dean, and a win would lock up a bid for Amer, and could lock one up for Dean.

Russell has made an amazing run with 5 straight wins after starting the season 0-6. He was a model of perseverance, but he'll need a playoff title to get the fourth bid. Drew pulled it off from 7th place last season, and he'll have to do it from 8th to earn a return trip.

Montoya

The title is still up for grabs. Hubert is in the driver's seat, and if he beats Gina or stays ahead of Lisa and me on points, he wins his first, and loooong-awaited, league championship!

Nonetheless, Hubert has locked up his record sixth straight Markinson bid, a perfect record!

That leaves 2 guaranteed spots up for grabs, between Lisa, me, and Dan. The odd man (or woman) out will finish 4th and have to sweat the playoffs, a scary proposition with Andrew sitting in 5th and winning Heinekens as the season winds down. Dan is still looking for his first bid, and after racing out to a 6-2 start and looking like a sure thing, he's limping to the finish line.

Starling

Looks like a two-horse race, with Dan holding a slim 4-point lead over Nalu, and Hubert another 50 points back. If Dan holds on, he'll be the first non-league champion to win the trophy.

Good luck! One more to go, and then playoffs!
